Top ten best LCD Soundsystem songs

LCD Soundsystem's highly anticipated new album "American Dream" is out September 1st. Everytime a band with a near-perfect discography (which is the case for LCD) releases a new album, people get mixed feelings. There is the frightening feeling that the new album might be the one where the group eventually drop the ball and make a shitty record. At the same time, there is always the great expectation for another amazing record. These ambiguous feelings about "American Dream" are hitting us hard. So to ease the tension we made our top ten LCD Soundsystem songs, which gave us a chance to revisit the band's stellar discography and confirm that James Murphy and his crew are one of the best things that happened to music in the last 15 years. Hopefully after listening to "American Dreams", we'll need to add some new songs to this Top Ten.

Check out all the lists, ranks, top fives we've made so far here!

10) Losing My Edge
Album: LCD Soundsystem (2005)
This is one of LCD Soundsystem's loosest and coolest song musically speaking. Meanwhile James Murphy delivers some words of wisdom about the modern world.

9) Call the Police
Album: American Dream (2017)
"Call the Police" resembles "All My Friends" in its emotional crescendo. Definitely this song is one of the reasons to get excited about "American Dream".

8) North American Scum
Album: Sound of Silver (2007)
Addictive beats plus great lyrics. LCD Soundsystem makes it all sound so easy to do.

7) Us v Them
Album: Sound of Silver (2007)
A dance attack with bells, claps and a tasty bass line.

6) Daft Punk Is Playing at My House
Album: LCD Soundsystem (2005)
For all those indie bands trying to make cool songs to dance, this is how you do it:

5) I Can Change
Album: This is Happening (2010)
James Murphy gives one of his most passionate vocal performances in "I Can Change" backed by an incredibly catchy beat. Also anybody who's been in love can relate to these lyrics.

4) All I Want
Album: This is Happening (2010)
This is the closest any band will ever get to mimic David Bowie's masterpiece "Heroes".

3) Someone Great
Album: Sound of Silver (2007)
Don't get me wrong LCD Soundsystem is great making any kind of music. However their most memorable songs are the emotional ones. On "Someone Great" James Murphy reflects on the death of his therapist which is "his someone great", but don't we all have someone great that we've lost?

2) Home
Album: This is Happening (2010)
"Home" shows exactly why LCD Soundsystem is so special. Do you want to dance to this song? Ok, the beats and the bass line make it a great tune to dance. Do you want to get all emotional with this song? Ok so sit down and pay attention to the lyrics. Either way you will be enjoying this dance melancholy song.

1) All My Friends
Album: Sound of Silver (2007)
"All My Friends" is their best song and the one they will always be remembered for so this is a pretty obvious choice for number one. After listening to "All My Friends" I always feel like I've been on a long but rewarding journey. Maybe that's how life should be.
